Hello,
I have an ASA 5505 running 8.2(5)58. I recently had a problem with the Anyconnect VPN. It would hang for about 1 minute then fail about 66% of the time with the message "Failed to get configuration from secure gateway. Contact your system administrator". 33% of the time it would succeed (still with the one minute delay).
I switched the FQDN used by AnyConnect and called it a night. Later I did some troubleshooting and realized that it was only Mac's that experienced the problem. I tried to do upload the Mac OS X package (replacing the existing one), but my Mac rebooted and the upload was cancelled deleting the file. At this point the problems went away.
I successfully uploaded the Mac OS X package and the problems did not recur.
So, my question is whether this is a VPN problem or a file system/flash hardware problem. The file system has three file system check recovery files. The output from "show flash"is below. I also turned on all of the file system debugging and didn't get any error messages, but during the 1 minute delay there was no file system activity. I can post this as well.
fsck doesn't return any information and didn't fix the problem when it was happening.
During my troubleshooting, I made no configuration changes. That's what makes me think this is a flash issue (software or hardware, I don't know).
