Frequent disconnections on SSID BYOD

My WLC 9800 version 17.3.6

I have an SSID for BYOD, users tell me that after having the equipment they are working with idle, it disconnects from the network and the connection is not automatic.

If not, do it manually by entering your username and password again,

I increased the Session Timeout (sec) to 8 hrs and 1 day, also increased the Idle Timeout (sec) and added a value to Idle Threshold (bytes). But it didn't work.

I check the logs of a computer and I see this log

2024/06/27 13:20:31.233 client-orch-sm Controller initiated client deletion with code: CO_CLIENT_DELETE_REASON_ROAM_ACROSS_POLICY_PROFILE_DENY. Explanation: Client roamed across policy profiles. Actions: Check configuration. This can be intentional on some scenarios, but policy usage should be optimised for best roaming experience

Is there another timer that I should adjust? Is the log due to my disconnections? or what could be happening???

Hi @nstr1 , how are you? Did you manage to find the resolution for this? I am running 17.10.1 in one of our WLCs and seeing the same logs for several users.

Hi @luiggi-moreira

Yes i resolve it.

• We obtained 2 "Radioactive Trace" captures using the MAC addresses of wireless devices "MAC.MAC.MAC" and "MAC.MAC.MAC", while performing a test. When reviewing the logs obtained we found the following DELETE REASON: "CO_CLIENT_DELETE_REASON_ROAM_ACROSS_POLICY_PROFILE_DENY".

• When reviewing the WLC configuration via CLI, it was found that the “wireless client vlan-persistent” command was not configured.

We proceeded to configure it in the WLC CLI and a test was carried out again, which was successful, since the device remained linked to the SSID at all times.

Use this command

Try it and tell me how it went.
