Hi there,

I'm very new to Webex and a client of mine is wondering what impact the coming update will have for them. Other than the roll-out of a new app, will there be any changes they should be aware from a user's perspective?

For example, what will happen with their:
  • plugins for email invite?
  • planned meetings?
  • contacts?
  • existing recordings?
  • etc...
I assume everything will still be available/working but they'd like some reassurance.

Also, from your experience, should current users be trained or the new app is very similar in term of look & feel?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

We are already utilizing Control Hub and the Webex App and have been for years. We have a small number of users that have both Webex and Webex Meetings installed on their machines. We plan to just uninstall Webex Meetings for all of our users so they can continue just utilizing the Webex App as they are now on their computers and mobile devices. Since we are already using the Webex App, is just removing the Webex Meetings App from machines prior to the upgrade sufficient or will there be a more significant impact to our organization? If we are already utilizing the Webex App, once our site is upgraded, does anything really change for us? Do we need to complete anything else or be aware of anything else?

hello all,

any news about the migration possibilities for customers with video mesh?
also, is there any way to know if full featured meetings for webex app is activated for a customer organization?

Because everything is being called simply "Webex" as opposed to teams, meetings, etc.    I am confused what this means. Is the meetings app being eliminated?  We already use Meetings and Teams.  What is going to happen on the scheduled update day?

Yes, the old apps will be eliminated and the new Webex app installed
On the update day everything happens automatically

Do you know if there is feature parity for meetings?   One reason folks keep going back to WebEx meetings Vs Teams is the meeting joined via WebEx meetings is different and has more features that we need. Screenshare with control delegation, etc

As far as I know the new app will even have more features than the two combined. Like subtitles and translation.
The new Webex App has all the featurest hat teams and meetings have. I have been using the new one for a while now.

Excellent. Thank you for the quick reply.
