2020: A Year of Change

2020 has been a crazy year with the global pandemic, shifting to a new way to work, learning how to educate our kids at home, and more. It has been an eventful year here at Webex too. We kept people connected with meetings, messaging, and calling, launched new updates and features, hosted our first WebexOne event, and launched the Webex Community. With so much change and uncertainty, connecting is more important than ever before, and that's exactly what you'll find in the Webex Community.

Creation of the Webex Community

We launched the community in May as a self-service tool for our users, admins, and adoption champions. Here, customers, partners, and employees continue to discuss all things Webex with peers, share best practices, ask questions, attend virtual events, and help each other out. Our community helps connect like-minded people who may have similar ideas, share a common problem, or may be able to one another to solve a problem. Because of you, we have been able to build a large knowledge base and create a community focused on "we" and finding solutions. It’s incredible to see what WE can accomplish. Want to know what all we as a community have achieved? Let's check it out!

  • We found 450 solutions to questions in the Webex Community
  • We hosted six live events, ranging from paving the way to the next normal to Webex Room Phone giveaways
  • We held five contests, including one around teacher appreciation
  • Linux support for Webex and many other feature requests in the User Community Feedback Portal are coming to fruition because members rallied behind them and emphasized their need

What’s Next for the Webex Community

It’s safe to say we have accomplished quite a bit in 2020, but we still have so much more to come in 2021. Starting in just a few weeks, we will be hosting three events a month, two Walkthrough Wednesday events where our technical marketing engineers will explain how to use our latest and greatest features, and an Adoption Spotlight where customers will share how they drove adoption with Webex and how they use it in their organization. We'll be featuring customers from different industries so you can focus on adoption in your industry.

January’s Schedule of Events:

January 6th – Walkthrough Wednesday: The new Webex App

January 13th – Adoption Spotlight – details TBA

January 20th – Walkthrough Wednesday: Webex Event features coming to Webex Meetings

Another update for 2021 will be consolidating our Webex Adoption Community boards together as one board “Adopting Webex” and moved into the Webex User side where more conversations can take place and we can help one another drive adoption in our organizations.

Thank You for Continuing to Build a “We” Focused Culture
As 2021 approaches, we're so excited for what is in store in the new year, but we can't help but look back at how the community has grown and how thankful we are for each and every one of you for making our community successful. Thank you to everyone who engaged with us, offered suggestions, helped fellow members solve problems, and more. We appreciate you! To our Community super users, thank you for driving conversations and connecting with other users. It has been an eventful year, but through it all, you all showed up in the Webex Community to support one another and we can't wait to see what you'll do next year. More members are joining us every day, and we are thrilled to have you be a part of this movement.

We want to give a very special thanks to @Roray Stewart  @Kathy N.  @Fritz_H  for dedicating time, effort, and resources to ensure fellow members have the tools and knowledge they need to use Webex to its full potential. We can’t explain how grateful we are for your continuous support. Happy holidays to all. We'll see you in the new year.
