ACI 6.0.1g OVA sim lab - unable to save the config

The ACI OVA has been imported into ESX6.5 and it runs fine, but the configuration cannot be saved permanently on the VM.
Every reboot, the initial setup screen appears, and the APIC version is 6.0.1g. Is this expected behavior, or did I configure the ACI ova incorrectly?   Thank you

That's expected. You need to export/ import your config if you need to shutdown the VM. Otherwise you can suspend the VM and not lose the existing config.

Thanks Robert!  I just built a 128Gb for this ACI Simulator. So no data traffic flow from endpoints can connect to the leaf switches within the OVA, say no k8s, openshift workload added to the vmm in this Simulator.

Can you recommend the bare minimum of hardware for a homelab to get started (spine + switch + 1 apic) that we can buy?
Was ACI mini fabric a possibility?

Because ACI is an SDN solution.
One would expect a UAT/Pre-Prod environment in any Devops solution.
How does it actually work for other people?
