hi everyone, We are implementing a project and will integrate ACI with VMware NSX. I have a question: when integrating APIC with VMware NSX, is it necessary to first integrate with vCenter so that APIC automatically creates VDS, and then Integrate with NSX Manager?

Hello @PTA90
Yes, when integrating Cisco ACI with VMware NSX, it is necessary to first integrate the APIC with VMware vCenter. This integration allows the APIC to automatically create and manage the VMware vSphere Distributed Switch (VDS), which is a prerequisite for the NSX integration. Here is a high-level overview of the steps involved:
Integrate APIC with VMware vCenter:
Verify VDS Creation:
Integrate APIC with VMware NSX Manager:
Configure NSX Integration:
By following these steps, you ensure that the APIC can manage the VDS and that the integration with NSX Manager is successful. The initial integration with vCenter is crucial because it sets up the foundational networking components that NSX will leverage for its operations.
Happy Configuration!!!
