Hello Community,
with the Nexus 9000 series (NX-OS), VLANs are reserved internally, which cannot be configured in this way. Here is the overview from the official source:
3968-4095 | Internally allocated | These reserved VLANs are allocated for internal device use.
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus9000/sw/7-x/layer2/configuration/guide/b_Cisco_Nexus_9000_Series_NX-OS_Layer_2_Switching_Configuration_Guide_7x/b_Cisco_Nexus_9000_Series_NX-OS_Layer_2_Switching_Configuration_Guide_7x_ch...
Is this also the case with the ACI or may these VLANs be used in the pools? Are there any experiences or best practices?
Best Regards
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
ACI reserves VLAN 4095, but you can use VLANs 1-4094.
Having said that, there is probably a best-practice document somewhere that says you should not use VLAN IDs above 3967 (and usually VLAN 3967 is recommended for the ACI Infrastructure VLAN) because someone somewhere may have reserved some of those VLANs somewhere - such as the case you mentioned where Cisco reserves VLANs 3968 to 4095 on the Nexus 9K in NXOS mode.
So my advice would be to use caution. Avoid if possible.
I hope this helps
