ACI MultiPod Install Order

Hello Folks,

After reading the multi pod install guide from Cisco I was still puzzled at when to initialise the other APICs. We have two APICs in both data centres. We intend one to be standby in Pod 2.

My main confusion on best practice is when I initilise the first APIC in the seed Pod (Pod-1) and do fabric discovery do I discover all the switches first in Pod-1 and Pod-2 before configuring any other APICs through their initialisation config

Yes, since you need a fabric in order to do any form of discover, you'll configure the first controller, discover all switches and the other controller in Pod1, configure the fabric for the 2nd Pod, discover all switches in Pod2, then you'll be able to discover the remaining controllers.
