Hi All,
I am currently working on a ACI Multipod design that will consist of 3 x APIC-SERVER-M3 appliances. The appliances will be equipped with 1455 Quad port 10/25GbE VIC modules (APIC-PCIE-C25Q-04) which will be dual connected to two fibre Leafs.
I've read the APIC hardware installation guide, and it states that the 1455 VIC can only be connected to the leaf switches using 10GbE interfaces, however under one of the design notes it states that all ports on the 1455 VIC must be set to the same speed of either 10GbE or 25GbE
For a VIC 1455 SFP28 module, 10-Gigabit only, use one of the following sets of transceivers and cables:
Cisco 10GBASE-LR transceivers (SFP-10G-LR) supporting a link length of up to 6.1 miles (10 km)
Cisco 10GBASE-SR transceivers (SFP-10G-SR) supporting the following link lengths:
Cisco SFP+ Active Optical Cables (SFP-10G-AOCxM [where x=1, 2, 3, 5, 7, or 10 for lengths in meters])
Cisco SFP+ Twinax Cables (SFP-H10GB-CUxM [where x=1, 2, 3, 5, 7, or 10 for lengths in meters])
All ports must have the same speed, either 10-Gigabit or 25-Gigabit.
Based on the above information, can the APIC be connected to the Leafs at 25GbE using cables such as SFP-H25G-CUxM, or is it 10GbE only?
Thanks

Only 10G is supported for APIC fabric interfaces. The reason is due to issues with FEC & 25G and there being no way to push FEC policy prior to APIC discovery. No real need for anything more than 10G either for the controller.
