Cisco ACI and Active Directory Site and Services

Hi everyone, I am not used to the networking part of the enterprise where I am working, I am more on the server side of things but I have a quick question about ACI and Site and Services.

Usually that feature is used to tell the computers which Domain Controllers to authenticate with (the one that is closer to them) but as I understand ACI, all the subnets are available on any part of the network, there is no site A and site B.

So if I am right, if all my Domain Controllers are in and ACI subnet, the feature of site and services is not really needed anymore, I should have only one site and assign all the subnets to that one, any Domain Controllers would be at the same distance to any client.

I my understanding right?

Hi Mathieu,

Yes, for ACI, if servers assigned to same subnet, they would be identified as same resources from ACI perspective. So it should be no distance difference you mentioned of AD feature.
