I have defined an L3 Outside Routed Network. The network has two logical nodes, one on Leaf 101, the other on Leaf102.
I have two logical interface profiles.
The first is SVI-3156 which connects to a N7K SVI via Leaf101/1/10. There is a default route pointing to the N7K.
The second is SVI-3035 which connects to a LACP VPC to an ESX host which has an L3 VM router. This L3 VM router has a default route pointing to the IP address of the Leaf101 logical node.
The Leaf101 router has a static route pointing to the L3 VM router.
With this configuration, I find that I have connectivity from EPGs in the fabric to the external N7K. In addition, I also have connectivity from those same EPGs to the L3 VM router on the ESX host.
I would like for the for the L3 VM router to have connectivity with the external 7K. At this point in time, it does not.
It appears that the L3 VM router can not ping through the logical nodes to the external N7K.
Is this a feasible design ?
Is it an example of transit routing ? (coming from one L3 entity, passing through the fabric, to another external L3 entity, N7K)
Any suggestions ?
thanks,
