Standby APIC SNMP

We have 3 x APICs and one Standby all running 3.2(3i) in a Multi-Pod topology. Is there any way to configure the Standby APIC for SNMP? SNMP is working for the 3 x active APICs but the Standby APIC doesn't respond to SNMP. If it can't respond to SNMP how will we know if it has failed? Will the APIC cluster send a trap to say the Standby has failed?

I don't think you can enable SNMP on the Standby.

 

I just tested shutting down the fabric ports towards the Standby controller on 3.2(3o).

 

Surprisingly there was no fault raised and nothing in the event log other than me shutting these ports down.

 

I did see that the Standby vanished from the Cluster as Seen By Node screen under Controllers > Node-N though. You can see this via the API:
