Unable to add 3rd APIC to Solarwinds Monitoring

Hello,

We have 3 x APIC setup and all the APICs have same SNMP settings and these are done under Fabric > Fabric Policies > Policies > Pod > SNMP

We are able to discover 2 x APICs in Solarwinds but the 3rd APIC is failing to discover. Its a cluster of 3 x APICs.

What can be issue? On Solarwinds when we select 'Poll for ACI' and enter username and password, that tests ok. Its just this 3rd APIC is not getting added in Solarwinds.

Did anyone face this kind of issue?

Any input is highly appreciated.

Version - 5.2 - 7g we upgraded from version 4.2 to 5.2 and still the same.

Thanks

Hi Team,

I would suggest the following steps to troubleshoot the issue of being unable to add the 3rd APIC to Solarwinds Monitoring:

  1. Verify that the SNMP settings on the 3rd APIC are correctly configured and match those of the other two APICs. You can do this by checking the settings under Fabric > Fabric Policies > Policies > Pod > SNMP.
  2. Check if there are any connectivity issues between the 3rd APIC and Solarwinds. You can do this by pinging the 3rd APIC from the Solarwinds server or by checking the logs on both the APIC and Solarwinds for any relevant error messages.
  3. Make sure that you have enabled API polling on one of your APICs and added leaf and spine switches to NPM as SNMP nodes as described in SolarWinds documentation.
  4. If you have multiple APIC nodes in your ACI system, you can monitor all APIC nodes with NPM to collect health and performance data. However, it’s important to note that each APIC has a full view of the ACI environment, so enabling ACI polling on multiple nodes may result in polling and storing redundant information. Make sure that you have enabled ACI polling on only one of the APICs.

If you have tried all these steps and are still unable to add the 3rd APIC to Solarwinds Monitoring, I would recommend opening a support case with Cisco for further assistance.
