Using Uplink Ports as vPC Ports on Border Leaf Switches - 93180YC-EX

Hello,
I was under the impression I could utilize two Uplink ports on our Border Leaf switches, after converting them within the software then reloading them. Which is what has been done. I've created vPC with those ports, but the vPC would not show up when I went to deploy an EPG. I then found myself back within the Fabric -> Inventory -> Chassis -> Interfaces pane and when I reviewed the "Operational" port configuration, I was met with the screen I've enclosed. I apparently will need an Override Policy? The warning message is what has given me pause. I don't want to risk affecting the operation of the Leaf switches and so I'm asking for affirmation if this is okay to do. That is proceed with the creation of Override Policy in order to finish creating the vPC. I was unaware of this step. Will doing this affect the other Uplink ports? (Warning Message) I don't want to risk inadvertently affecting BL Spine connections. Has anyone had any practical experience with this in a production environment? ACI version is 4.2.(7f) Thank you.

Hello,

I have not. The Warning Message I received concerned me as there are many other vital connections being utilized over those border leaf switches. Any interruptions, aside from the switch reloads (that's manageable) would be not be good. To put this mildly. I've decided to use another pair of ACI switches for this configuration, just to be sure.

Thank you for your input. Most appreciated.

If it is functional to convert the UPLINK port to Downlink, this process is disruptive and requires a restart of the leaf for it to be applied, have you already performed this restart?
