ACE 4710 FT Unit Management Access

santipongv

I believe I should be able to get into the management interface IP address of the ACE 4710 FT unit. However, I keep getting this message, "login is temporarily unavailable as startup configuration is being applied; try after some time ..."

I even tried to reload this FT unit, but still unable to get in. Does anybody know the reason why it is behaving this way and how can I gain access to the FT unit.

Thank you.

did you try to login as admin ?

There is an open issue right now if you try with a different user.

CSCso00038: login is temporarily unavailable... for any user except "admin"

Gilles.

Yes, I also did try to log in as "admin" but was unsuccessfull.

The workaround from the ddts :

Have a non-redundant Admin context or disable running config sync on Admin context

Give that a try.

The ddts above will be fixed in A1.8 which should be out soon.

Gilles.

I did try disabling both running config sync and startup config sync in Admin context of the primary unit, but none of them work.

ACE4710/Admin# sh context

Number of Contexts = 1

Name: Admin , Id: 0

Config count: 290

Description: context for Admin

Resource-class: Admin

FT Auto-sync running-cfg configured state: disabled

FT Auto-sync running-cfg actual state: disabled

FT Auto-sync startup-cfg configured state: disabled

FT Auto-sync startup-cfg actual state: disabled

ACE4710-FO login:

Password:

login is temporarily unavailable as startup configuration is being applied; try after some time ...

Login incorrect

ACE4710-FO login: admin

Password:

Login incorrect

You just get the login is incorrect when trying with admin.

So seems like a pwd issue.

Gilles.

I have dafault username and password (admin -admin) on the ACE but the primary authentication method is TACACS. I was unable to use TACACS to authenticate my credentails so I used the default local admin account. I am certain that I typed in password correctly.

Disable the FT link and try to connect to the backup with your admin username.

If it doesn't work, it is a password issue.

If it does work, upgrade to the upcoming A1.8 and see if the problem persist

Gilles.

I disconnected the Crossover cable for FT , but I was not able to get it with local admin account until after I reload the unit. I believe I have to wait for the upcoming A1.8 version. Thank you.
