ACE probe design for AVS appliances.

Greetings:

I have an ACE module that is load balancing a pair of AVS 3120 devices. I want to create a probe to monitor the AVS devices to remove them if they fail to perform. Does anyone have a recommendation of the best practice for the probe design? Currently I am monitoring the AVS devices on port 80 but I do not know if “port 80 is alive” is the best way to check these devices. Any recommendations on AVS monitoring is greatly appreciated.

I had not seen that link. Thank you for your input. The document mentions cisco_avs_parametermap, I will need to research this setting to see if it applies to the external AVS devices.
