I am new to configuring a Local Director 430 but after setting up a basic configuration such as
Virtual 10.1.1.1:80
Real 10.1.1.2:80
Real 10.1.1.3:80
Bind 10.1.1.1:80 10.1.1.2:80
Bind 10.1.1.1:80 10.1.1.3:80
The LD 430 seems to be working correctly when accessing the virtual server remotely. However if logged into one of the Real servers that is bound to the virtual, web pages will not display when trying to access the virtual server. Is this normal operation for the LD 430.

Never tried it but it sounds normal. Anyone have this setup and no for sure?

Yes, this is normal behavior. Since the LD is L2 device, it cannot redirect same incoming and outgoing traffic on the same interface. For load balancing to occur (accessing the vip), the request must go across the LDIR. Meaning packet comes into the vip on e0 from the router, load balanced, and out on e1 to the servers.
I hope this helps!
