Getting the following message on our CS150:

Subject: Log Message from 191.254.7.14: Warning

OCT 31 08:39:32 5/1 157 IPV4-4: Ipv4SfmForwRx: buffer length (74) less than

IP length (47789)

Any one have any idea what this means? Not sure if we should be worrying about it and documentation is very scarce. Running version ap0401002 (4.01 Build 2).

Andy.

Andy,

Here you are:

IPV4-4: Ipv4SfmForwRx: buffer length (xxx) less than IP length (xxx).

These are IP packet corrupted where the IP header Total Length value did not match with the real length of the packet. So the SFP received less total bytes then the IP header length was set to. This could be related to hardware or errors on the line. To be sure you would have to sniff the line and see if the packets are coming in corrupted. You can use the "show ether-errors" and "show mibii" commands to see if you are getting errors.
