Is there any additional information that should be gathered to establish whether or not this is the bug definitively?  Since the "workaround" in the bug is to "Upgrade to ACE30" it seems more platform related than software related, but the Kernel uptime is almost 18 months... so that makes it seem like it's process driven, which should be something that software could fix...

I'm hoping there's an ACE expert that can clear up my conception of what is going on here.

ACE restart: NP 2 Failed : NP Process Crashed

Description

Symptom:
ACE10/20 restarted with "NP 2 Failed : NP Process Crashed" (or NP 1).
Conditions:
ACE10/20 running A2.3.6a
Workaround:
None (migrate to ace30)

It is hardware related. Please upgrade to ACE 30. or better yet. Netscaler on CSR or NExus 1000v

So I got some additional information from the customer - he was quick to point out the 18 months of kernel uptime... and also noted that when the error occurred, this ACE, which was supposed to be the standby ACE, went active, so there were two active ACE's.

I have been advised that a "reload" of the module was what restored the device to active/standby:

"We reloaded the module and it’s up in standby now (instead of active / active."
