Cisco ACE 4710 - rate limiting/shaping?

I have a Cisco ACE 4710.  Does this device have the ability to do rate limiting/traffic shaping on a per-session basis?  For example, if I'm load balancing 2 real servers, can I tell the ACE to limit each session to "XX" amount of bandwidth?

Hi,

Yes this is possible. Kindly have a look at the below link :

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/ace/vA5_1_0/configuration/slb/guide/slbgd/rsfarms.html#wp1012881

Please visit section: Configuring Real Server Rate Limiting

So, it allows you to limit the bandwidth to a real server...but what I was asking was if you could limit bandwidth by session.  So create a policy that states that no session should exceed "x" bandwidth.

Hi,

Sorry that feature is there. With ACE EOL, i am not sure we will have such a feature.

Rate-limit at rserver and serverfarm as well as in pmap to apply it to a policy are the only options. But again they are not specific to IP or session.
