How the WAN acceleration is done by the WAAS?.. I meant what is the technlogy used for doing this.

Without writing a book, WAAS uses TCP optimization and compression for all TCP traffic that is redirected to it. Also, on top of the basic TCP optimizations, there are also Layer 7 Application Optimization(AO). Currently in 4.0 there is a CIFS AO, but in future releases (4.1.x), there will be more AOs for things like HTTP, NFS, RTSP, etc.

Hope that helps,

Hi Dan,
You might have mentioned the book which recently Zach wrote. ;-)
Here it is:
Deploying Cisco Wide Area Application Services (Networking Technology) (Hardcover)
by Zach Seils (Author), Joel Christner (Author).
Parthiban, I own it and recommend it to everyone who is tasked with deploying Cisco WAAS.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Paul

Yep,
It's the best resource you can read on the subject from the formost expert on WAAS....anywhere.
