Hi,

I have plan to upgrade two CSM software, CSM running with active/standby roles. I'm concerned about effect to concurrent session on CSM active when change to standby. Sessions will lost or not?

Thanks

Hi,

This would depend on how your system is configured. If the CSM is configured to replicate connections, then the failover should not cause any downtime.

In order to do connection replication, you need to have the command "replicate csrp connection" under the vserver configuration, and, assuming you also use stickiness, the command "replicate csrp sticky". This second command will also replicate the sticky tables, ensuring that stickiness will continue to work normally after a failover.

Please, bear in mind that, if you are doing SSL termination or initiation with a SSL daughter card, SSL connections will break during a failover because SSL session keys are not replicated along with the connection informatin.

Regards

Daniel
