CSS 11501 SSL Module

I'm having trouble configuring a basic ssl configuration on a CSS11501 box. When I attempt to configure the SSL Module Service it tells me that the SSL Module must be in slot 2 and when I attempt to use slot 2 it tells me that the module is offline. When I do a show chassis the only module I see is below:

CSS501-SCM-INT.

I'm apparently missing some basic command to either enable the module or create the appropriate service.

You do not have an SSL enabled switch. You must have the 11501-S model. The module is not field installable.

I went through the same problem last year. If the switch is new, see if your reseller will take it back for credit. Be advised the 11501-S cost is about double over the 11501.
