Hello all,
I must configure our CSS to use a GeoTrust SSL wildcard cert covering 3 domain levels, i.e., "*.abc.com", "*.*.abc.com" and "*.*.*.abc.com".
We generated the CSR from the CSS using "*.abc.com" for our domain name since you can only make one entry there. When the CSR is sent to GeoTrust, they configure the SSL wildcard cert to use all 3 wildcard domain names (you can see all 3 domain names in the cert we received back from GeoTrust).
We applied the SSL wildcard cert received from GeoTrust on the CSS and the key & cert match. However, when we hit the webpage using "web.login.abc.com" we get a popup warning that the site name does not match the cert... but the "*.*.abc.com" entry in the cert should cover this... right?
So, my question is... what domain name should I be entering during CSR generation on the CSS to cover this SSL wildcard cert?
Should I use "*.*.*.abc.com"?
Does it even matter?
HELP!
Thanks,
-Adam
