CSS11501S-K9 - Pass through client IP in request headers

Using the CSS11501S-K9 load balancer, when the LB directs the call to the appropriate client, we would like the request headers to reflect the clients IP instead of the IP of the load balancer.  Is there a way to configure this so that the LB replaces its own IP that is passed in the request header with the IP of the destination client?

     thank you

Hi Neil,

I'm not sure that I can understand your question. Can you clarify for me this please?: "when the LB directs the call to the appropriate client, we would like  the request headers to reflect the clients IP instead of the IP of the  load balancer.". You mean application HTTP or network IP header?

Application HTTP.  When a request to our client server is made, the Request URL is contained in the Request Header sent in the HTTP Request.  Our code uses the   ://: that it extracts from this request header to redirect the request and for reporting purposes to a DB.  When we direct to a LB, the data contained in this Request Header points to the LB itself which is not what we want.  Most LB's have the capability to modify the request header so that once the LB has targeted a destination server to route to, the Request Header can also be modified by the LB so that the URL will point to the destination server instead of the LB.

   thank you
