I am starting to learn more about the ACE platform and am wondering the main difference between the ACE and CSS switch. From what I can see, it seems the ACE does the same thing as the CSS and a little more. Am I completely wrong?

The ACE does much much more than the CSS. Take a look at the 2748 pages of configuration and reference guides for the ACE module for a start. The ACE Appliance does even more at the moment (there are two daughtercard slots on the ACE module).

Thanks! That's what I thought. It seems that the ACE will replace the CSS, does this seem correct?

Yes, the ACE will definately replace the CSS and CSM. There are conversion utilities for CSS and CSM that you can run from the module or appliance themselves. Just go to http://aceip and it will show you the status page and links to the embedded utility.
