I have been asked if I can do a simple thing. Use the CSS as a DNS server, that will normally return one IP address - no load distribution, no proximity. But should that server not be available an alternate IP adress be provided. This will be done by a single CSS, rather than geographically disparate peers, so no other CSS for APP to talk to.
I would normally read and lab this, but I am on a deadline, and I just have the standard licences on my LAB CSSs.
Thanks,
Paul.

Paul,
what you're looking for is a GSS (Global Site Selector).
It will do what you're looking for.
The CSS can do it as well, but we don't support that particular feature on it.
Moreover, the GSS is dedicated to DNS handling and has more options/features in that regards.
Gilles.

Hi Gilles - thanks for the comment. Unfortunately we are trying to make do with what we have, and we have a CSS :-(
