Erasing CSM configuration

Hi

I have a 6509 with a CSM in slot 3. Does anyone know how to clear the configuration of the CSM independently of the switch configuration.

I have tried 'clear mod csm 3 linecard-configuration' but having reported that it has cleared the config, it then reloads from 'somewhere'. I say somewhere because I thought it was NVRAM but having erased that first and then run the command again, the CSM still reloads the same configuration.

Thanks.

The command you mentioned is to remove the config from the CSM memory.

However, the config is still in the MSFC and the MSFC will forward to the CSM.

So you need to go to config mode and do a 'no mod csm ' which you can only do if the vservers are not inservice.

Gilles.

Thanks for the quick response.

I took the vservers out of service and tried 'no mod csm 3' from config mode and got the message '% Remove vserver before unconfiguring slot 3'.

The only way I could execute the command correctly was to remove the vservers first. There was a lot of vservers defined but I used 'no vserver all force' from CSM config mode to forcefully remove them all in one go and then used 'no mod csm 3' from config mode to remove the rest of the config.

Thanks again for the help

Phil.
