If this is CSS-1105x, then you are probably running 5.0.1 not 5.1. Port1 is just an ID. You would configure "flow permanent port1 80" or "flow permanent port2 80", etc. I would recommend using a version that supports the use of "flow port" as this will let you set a specific idle timeout. If using flow permanent, you need to configure cmd_sched to occasionally shut it off so you don't run out of FCBs due to clients/servers that have no cleanly closed their connections.

In the newer 11500 series, the global "flow port" command is replaced by "flow-timeout-multiplier" which is used in group and content rule configurations.

What do you mean by "default for flow permanent"?

If flow permanent isn't configured, it isn't used.

Flow collection would vary by port, from 8 seconds to 10 minutes (telnet)

This 6.10 documentation describes flow parameters
