Does Cisco 11503 Content Switch come with GB FiberOptic 16 ports module like in Cat3550 switch we have GB RJ45 and GB FiberOptic modules, Cat3550 comes in both flavor so Can it possible to get Cisco 11503 Content Switch with GB FiberOptic 16 ports Module?? then I would be able to attach my servers to it?

Sorry, there is no 16 ports GigE module.
only 16 FE or 2 GigE.

I would suggest a 2 GigE module.
Connect the 2 ports to a switch.
Use 1 port for outside vlan and the other port for inside/server vlan.
If you really want to avoid another switch, use 16FE for the servers and a 2 port GigE for upstream router.

Hi Gilles,
How can I fit these two GigE ports into my scenario?
My scenario is like, I have a Cat3550 switch with 10 GigE interface and two FE interfaces, I have already configured VLAN101, VLAN102 and VLAN103, in VLAN101 I have 5 servers for my domain and VLAN102 has 3 servers for a different domain and all users are in VLAN103 that has only one fastEthernet port in this CAT3550 which is furtherlly connected to another 3COM Switch, I want to make my all 8 servers fault tolerant and load balanced in this situation how can I use CSS 11503 content switch and where should I put it so all 8 servers could server all users and provide fault tolerant service.
As you said use these two GigE port module one for outside VLAN and second one for the server VLAN but as I explained there are three VLANs in server switch so how should I configured then everything work together
I will appreciate in your urgent reply

Hi Saleem,
one possible solution would be that you connect the CSS via a trunk to the 3550(towards the servers). the thing which has to be tought about is the spanningtree and if issues resulting in redundant links might kick in.
Kind Regards,

Saleem,
don't forget you also have 2 GigE ports on the SCM module.
So if you buy the Gig module, you will have 4 Gig ports which let you connect the CSS on all 3 vlans using gig interface.
A recommendation - avoid spanning-tree as much as you can on the CSS. Use the command 'bridge spanning-tree disable'.

Gilles.

Hi Gilles,
I am sorry for this later reply, I was too much sick thats why could not logged in,
Thank you very much for your suggestions, I will do it when I get CSS.
Do you know any other vendor's CSS which has GigE ports and can solve my problem 100%.

Saleem.

Hi Saleem,
won't be possible as the biggest CSS is the 11506 with 6 slots and this gives you a total of 12 GigE.

Saleem,
another solution is a Cat6k with CSM module.
You can then order tons of Gig ports.
However, this solution is more expensive if you don't already owned a Cat6k.
Gilles.

Hi Gilles,
Thank you very much for your kind help, I will see the technicality of Cat6K and possibility of buying,
