Help with CSS 11500 GE2 interface connection to 3750swi

3750-switch is running ver 12.1(19)ea1c

CSS-11500 is running 7.10 build 102

The GE1 interface in running normal and I ping to/from the switch and CSS, the 3750swi fiber Gig port is solid green.. everything o.k.

But the GE2 from the 11500 css causes the 3750swi fiber Gig port to aternate from green to amber back and forth constantly and I can not ping the switch or CSS.

both port sides are set up as a trunk 802.1q

I gave them a setup of vlan8 and interface IP

Pretty basic but I cant find any information on what would cause the ge2 to what looks like flapping alternating green and amber port lighton the 3750 switch. I have swapped GBIC and cables.

I would suggest to try different settings for the pause frame on the CSS and the 3750.

Do a 'adminshut/no admin' for every new settings.

You didn't really need to move to a different switch. A software upgrade to the switch would have fixed the problem. I upgraded my 2970 and 3750 switches to 12.2(20)SE1 and the problem stopped.
