Keepalives and "ip address range" in a service

Can anyone explain the relationship between a keepalive and a range of IP addresses in a service definition? If I have a range such as "ip address 172.18.2.120 range 4", the set a tcp keepalive, will the tcp keepalive evaluate all the addresses in the range. Will it then include the active addresses in the possible translation pool, or is it an all-or-nothing proposition?

no - only the first address of the range will be use for the keepalive.

If it goes down, the all service goes down.

I confirmed this by testing it in the lab with 5.03(26)

Gilles.
