In testing my backup configuration, I can take my primary real oos and my failover comes up just as it is intended to do. But, if I simulate a hardware failure on the primary, the failover doesn't come up.
In searching through the forums, I've come across the probe command, which from what I can gather probes the server for it's state of service. Is that correct and if so, will it solve my problem?
Thanks, Ben

Ben,
The 'probe' command is used for configuring an application (http, dns, etc.) specific keepalive for real or virtual servers.
If I read your post correctly, you are failing the primary LD but the secondary is not taking over?

Correct. When I fail the primary by taking it out of service in the configuration, failover takes place. But, if I fail the primary by simulating a hardware failure (pulling the plug on the switch), failover doesn't happen.
I've had a TAC case open on this for a while and the tech thinks I may have stumbled on to the solution with the probe command. I'm working through that now and should be testing it soon.

What does the output of 'sh fail' show on the secondary LD?
