load balancing active contexts between the 2 ACE30's

We're running a pair of redundant ACE30 modules in the 6500 switches and currently have all the active contexts on one ACE. However, because of the resource constrain we're running into on some of the contexts, we're thinking of moving them to the other ACE and making them active, thereby ending up with some active contexts on one ACE and some on the other.

Has anybody tried this approach and could share their thoughts?

Thanks.

Greg,

Its a common deployment.
To achieve active-active redundancy, a minimum of two contexts and two FT groups are required on each ACE. You enter the "ft switchover" command to force a switchover.

Example:
host1/Admin# ft switchover 1
group_id—(Optional) FT group that you want to switch over. Enter the ID of an existing FT group. This argument is available in the Admin context only.

To use the ft switchover command, you must disable preemption by using the no preempt command.
