what type of loadbalancer ?

CSS ? CSM ? LocalDirector ?

Do you want to route multicast traffic ?

Do you want to switch multicast traffic ?

do you want to loadbalance multicast traffic ?

Please, try to right a few sentences to explain what you have and what you need.

CSS - does not support any form of multicast.

CSM - can bridge multicast.

LD - can bridge multicast.

There is nothing to *enable* multicast.

If you have a loadbalancer that can bridge it, simply configure your loadbalancer in bridge mode.

Gilles.

Hi,

Thanks for u r reply.

type of load balancer is cisco css11503

Version: sg0730203 (07.30.2.03)

Flash (Locked): 07.30.2.03

Flash (Operational): 07.30.2.03

Type: PRIMARY

Licensed Cmd Set(s): Standard Feature Set

well we have two switches say access switch -1 & 2 in betwwen these two switch we want to introduce load balancer.on both switches we are running multicast.on both switches i had created vlan & virtual ip is created on load balancer.

1.currently on both the switches we had enabled multicast & it is running successfully but if we introduce load balancer how to go ahead with multicast traffic ?

2is there any way to route or allow muticast traffic ?

regards,

Actually I have to correct what I said.

The CSS is capable of switching multicast traffic.

So if you configure the CSS to bridge, it will pass multicast traffic.

Gilles.

Thanks for u r reply.please let us know how to configure it on css 11503.Any additional configuration required on switch(Nortel Switch 8600)

Hi,

Still problem is not solved.what are the steps for multicast traffic switching in cisco css11503.

Regards,

put all interface in the same vlan.

Multicast traffic can't cross vlan on css.

If that does not work, then give us more info about your setup - multicast ip, vlan, connection, mac address, topology, config, source, destination, ....

Gilles.
