Dan Loring

Wave-AA#ntpdate 192.168.10.20

4 May 09:37:05 ntpdate[21029]: the NTP socket is in use, exiting

Failed to set software clock using NTP server 192.168.10.20

Wave-AA#

Getting an alarm on ther CM as well.
Has anyone scene this before?  Seems it is most likely a server 2003 issue since this is being used as the time server.  Any thoughts?

Hi Dan,

ntpdate will give you this error when ntp server is already configured. ntpdate is used to synchronize the clock once when you issue this command. If you disable the ntp server config by doing a no ntp server <> and then issue the ntpdate command then you will not see this error.

Regards

Kiran.
