Hi to all,
I have a problem with a remote office. In this Office some users open a Microsoft Access DB via fileshare. The DB size if about 5 mbytes.
They have latency and slow responding when they insert the data in the form.
This is our network:
REMOTE PC --> SWITCH --> WAAS REMOTE -> ROUTER --> MPLS NETWORK --> ROUTER --> WAAS MY CED--> FIREWALL --> SERVER
Also I've checked the firewall in my office.
On "Waas Remote" and "Waas My Ced" I made this policy.
I'm going right to see how to solve the problem? What also can I do on Waas for obtain the best performace?

Hi,
Is it only on using Microsoft Access or do other MS office apps (like Word, Excel etc) suffer the same problem ?
But why have you made your own WAFS policy and placed it in the beginning ... and basically turned all optimization off (Passthrough and no accellerator) ?
I only have version 5 WAAS and the picture there looks like this (it appears that your using a v4.x) :
Try doing a "show stat conn client-ip <xx.xx.xx.xx>" on the remote WAAS to verify that the optimization is actually passthrough.
If it is running in passthrough, try to run with default optimization policies, they will usually do the stuff fine.
Having said this, if your running with WAAS version 4.x, you will only have the option of using the CIFS accellerator, which isn't good at optimizing SMB version 2 and later (which you find in Windows Server 2008/2012 and Windows 7/8 ... and a lot of other products).
Also be aware the Signed SMB is a nogo on version 4, and will hurt you CIFS optimization as well :-(
Best regards

Thank you for you replies.
Yes I am using version 4.3.3.
I've done some tests, with and without compression but the poor performance are still here. If I open the MS Access DB from fileshare I encouter app hangs and nothing works.
I think that I must cooperate with my ISP to found where is the problem.
