PROBES on CSM-S

Hi everybody,

i have a question : Is it normal, that whan i configure a serverfarm with a TCP or a HTTP probe, but no vserver associated with the serverfarm, the probe checking does not work ? All (2)Reals are operational (but the real state of one server is down). When i associate the serverfarm with a vserver the probes work.

Any idea ?

Greetings Dirk

Dirk,

yes.

The goal is to save resources.

There is no need to poll a services that is not being used anyway.

Gilles.

Hi Dirk,

You mean the vserver shows as "opertiona"? that would be true because one of the real is up in the serverfarm. I've setup tcp probes and assigned them to serverfarm without putting them on a vserver and it works fine. I use the serverfarm with probes just for monitoring purposes. You may want to check the server itself. I'm sure you figured it out by now..

Steve
