Problems booting from disk when using ODM

A colleague of mine is setting up a new CSS. When he enters the ODM there is not an option to book from disk, only Network, Ftp and Clear ?

Is there a reason for this, the documentation I read suggest the 'boot from disk' option should be there.

What is the version of CSS he is using. Not all the versions of CSS have the option of boot from disk. If this option is not available i would suggests you to use FTP. This should work without issues.

Hi Mike,

I've recently had the same issue. It turned out that the box was shipped without image, so I had to format the disk and boot from FTP first.

Once this was done, the "disk" option appeared.

David is correct [I gave him a high five].

If you do not have an image on disk, you can't boot from disk and the only option is FTP boot.

You will need to configure an ip address/mask for the management port and then do an FTP boot.
