We use Cisco 3750s for switching, and ASAs for our firewalls. We have two web servers (http/https) that we need to provide failover for. I've never looked into the Cisco products in this area.
Our requirement -- 100% of traffic goes to node1. However, if it detects node1 is down, all traffic shifts to node2. It would need to monitor node1 by checking an HTTP application. At the simplest level it would check that http answers. But ideally it would check a particular URL and parse it for a result (a keyword in the page).
From searching around cisco.com it looks like I'd be looking at either the Cisco CSS 11501 or possibly a Cisco ACE 4710? Am I on the right track? Would both meet my needs?
Thanks
Bill

Go for Cisco ACE4710, CSS are out of date and have reached end of sale status

Thanks, that's a good tip. But it looks like a pair of 4710s will run about $30k, and it somewhat overkill for my need. Are there any other current Cisco solutions for load balancing two web servers?
