question about css11503 service's state transitions

CSS 11503: show service command display state transitions counter. The reference guide say:

State transitions: The total number of state transitions on the service. If the State Transitions field is 0, the 0 value can be due to a counter reset through either the global configuration mode zero service state-transitions command or the content mode zero state-transitions command. The counter can also be 0 if the service is down, or if the service is alive but no traffic is running.

I want to know : if the service is alive but no traffic is running. How long the state transitions will change to 0 if the state transitions is not 0 ?

the documentation does make sense.

The state transtion counter only increases.

It can be reset using a zero command or after a reboot.

There is no automatic reset if no traffic is flowing through the service.

Thanks,

Gilles.
