One of the disks in our WAE-612 has failed and I have to replace it.
While checking the replacement procedure at
I see a point
"
Step 2
Insert a replacement disk into the slot in the WAE. The replacement disk must have a disk ID number that is different from the disk that it is replacing. "
Question is how will I check disk ID of the failed disk and of the new disk that I am going to put in? Is disk00,disk01 etc disk IDs? How to make sure that the new disk has a different disk ID than the one which has failed?
Thanks,
Kashish

you can do #show disks failed-disk-id to check the failed disk ID, I don't recall if there's a label or something from the new disk with it's ID... in any case if you're having issues with the rebuild not starting or the WAE not being able to recognize the new disk, please follow the steps on the link below, also insert the new disk or a different slot.

Felix,
Here is the o/p of "show disks failed-disk-id"
waas#sh disks failed-disk-id
Disk location Serial Number
disk00 J80FRFXK
Is disk00 the disk ID here? How should I check what is the disk ID of the new disk?
Thanks,
Kashish
