I am beginning to think that my company is the only company who is using RISE with the Citrix Netscalers.... hoping that someone here might have some experience or insight on how this is supposed to work. Long story short we have a pair of Netscaler SDX's hooked up via a layer 2 port-channel to a Nexus 7K. We have RISE configured on both sides and is reporting as "active" on the 7K, so everything looks like it is working. We would expect to see some route maps applied to the SVI's involved and some RISE generated ACL's in the config of the 7K but none of that is there. I opened a TAC case and TAC did confirm that RISE was configured properly and the issue must be on the Netscaler side so he reached out to someone over at Citrix to try to help. That is where I am at right now with this.
Has anyone had this issue? Has anyone used RISE with a Netscaler SDX? I can give more specific details if anyone has experience with this. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide on this.

Hi,
Have you solved this issue?
If RISE is UP, but APBR is not functional, I would first check if:
1.) "feature pbr" is activated on the Nexus side
2.) USIP is configured on particular services ("set service XYZ -usip YES") on the NetScaler side
Best regards,
Jasmina

Hi Jasmina, Yes, this issue has been solved. Thank you for your reply. The end result was that in our implementation we are using traffic domains and we needed a SNIP IP bound to the VLAN we were trying to use for RISE. We also needed to add a default route to each traffic domain we wanted RISE to work with.
Thanks Again.

Thanks for sharing info!
I have never tested RISE with traffic domains in combination, as I got impression it is not supported. Good to know it is working. :)
Best regards,
Jasmina
