Hey everyone.
Does anyone have any experience working with the LDAP protocol and making policy decisions based on the content within LDAP queries?
I was reviewing the CSM gear available to me and it would seem that I can do this for the HTTP protocol no problem. For example, send a GET request to a serverfarm A vs. serverfarm B if I see something in the URI. For example a request for a JPG would goto one server farm where all URIs with an ASP extension might goto another server farm.
I was hoping that was possible to do with IP protocols in general, but it doesn't seem to be the case. When I create a 'map' on the CSM, I can only make it a type of url or header, etc., and within a url map I can only *match* on the HTTP protocol.
I was hoping to match on the LDAP protocol and look at the bind attempts and make a decision where to send those requests based on some criteria. For example, if I saw 'ou=shared,' then send to one serverfarm but if I saw 'ou=external' send to a different one.
If CSM is not capable, which it appears that is the case, then does anyone know if Cisco has any other products that would suffice?
Thanks for any help that can be provided.
