Hello,
I am looking for a complete step wise procedure for upgrading WAF from 5.0.2 to 6.1 I already have downloaded the tar file from Cisco.com. But have got stuck on working with the Bash on linux kernel 2.4 as I am unware of the commands to copy this tar file from source to destination on XML Appliance.
Asssuming it can be transferred either using TFTP or USB the only options available and there is no bootable CD.
Note: I am working for the first time on linux just need to complete this upgrade task. And therefore need help to establish basic tftp connection and verifying tar file locations on appliance and how to transfer the new tar file on appliance is it mandatory to remove the existing image.
Please suggest...Thanks in advance

Hello itlogical,
I assume you mean the Web Application Firewall, which is interesting since you are only on 5.0.2. The WAF feature set only came out in 6.1.
You will want to use something like WinSCP (http://winscp.net/eng/download.php) to upload the images to the AXG running 5.0.2. It will allow you to use a GUI to copy the images over an SSH connection. You can place them in the /root directory.
You will need to first upgrade from 5.0.2 to 6.0.3, then from 6.0.3 to 6.1. If you go to Cisco.com, and do a download software search for axg, you find several files. Each one has the "from" version and the "to" version in the filename. Each .tgz file you download will contain a file called INSTALL.txt. Read this file in its entirety as it has all the information you need to perform the upgrade once the files are on the device. You should also read the release notes. Once an upgrade is complete, you can delete the .tgz file in order to free up some space.
6.1 Update Notes
Hope this helps,
Sean
