use of the command alias in Cisco ACE

Hi All,

Can anybody help me to know the use of alias command in Cisco ACE:

alias 10.100.85.142 255.255.255.240

Hi Thiyagu,

The alias IP is the virtual IP address that will be shared between the active and standby ACE. The concept is similar to the HSRP address you would configure on IOS.
