Using CSS for High Availability

This seems like a fairly easy question, but I don't know the answer. I have 2 servers behind a VIP and need all requests coming into that VIP to go to a single server. When that server dies, I would like the VIP to fail over to the other server and keep using that server until that server dies before trying to fail back to Server A. I've looked at persistence and Sorry Servers, but if the connection sits idle, will I have to worry about the CSS sending the new requests to the second (or not previously used) server? Thanks in advance for helping with this!

Jason,

this is actually not possible.

Our mechanism of backup/sorry server always reuse the primary server once it becomes active again.

I think somebody on this forum came up with the same question and finally found a tricky way to achieve this behavior. But I do not remember when, who, how.

Sorry.

Gilles.
