Hi All~
I tried VIP reduandancy using a CSS pair and it didnt work.
Currently we have a flat network in our staging environment.Only one VLAN 100 is serving all machines.I was asked to introduce a CSS pair for some application testing.I introduced another VLAN 200 into the switch and attached servers and CSS's Server Vlan to it. See diagram at

(Every server has two NICs only one active--solid green)
Every thing worked as long as I didnt shut down the primary CSS. As soon the primary CSS was down, I couldnt reach my servers.
I flushed the arp tables on both devices but I found that CAt6k was learning the MAC of Servers on wrong port-(port connected to the primary css which was down). Is this some kind of spanning tree problem?
I switched back to single vlan model and am now using CSS in Host-to-Host redundancy and every thing is running fine.
In a redundandt Layer 2 environment, is VIP based redundant CSS is not possible?
or I am making a silly mistake?
Thanks
Glenn
