VIP redundancy on CSS11503

When trying to configure a virtual-router under a circuit, a message says that ip redundancy has to be configured first. But, after configuring this, it says the command ip virtual-router doesn't apply with box-to-box redundancy.

What is the correct way to configure VIP redundancy?

This is version 5.10.

the documentation to configure vip redundancy is at :

you should first do 'no ip redundancy'

Then under the circuit do 'ip virtual-router 1 priority [preempt]'

Then configure the vip 'ip redundant-vip 1 '
