WAAS CPU util alarm

Hi team,

I would like to ask if there is an alarm for Cisco WAAS devices that can be generated when high CPU utilization is experienced ? I was not able to find one in Cisco WAAS alarm book at "http://www.cisco.com/web/software/280836712/38138/WAAS-4.0.1.16-Alarm_Book.html#335000_anchor".

If not, what is the treshold that we should configure in our monitoring tool.

Many thanks!

Regards,

Stan

Hi Stan,

At present, there is no CLI / GUI option to configiure CPU alarm on the WAE. The high CPU alarms are caused by either HW failure or SW issues on the box which causes other major issues on WAE which ultimately raises the related alarm.

You can configure your monitoring tool threshold to anything above 80%. WAAS CPU spiking upto 60% should be considered normal as heavy traffic, particular traffic pattern could cause the CPU to spike upto 60-70%.

Hope this helps.
